  • My poor husband ~ he started feeling queasy yesterday afternoon and feels pretty miserable today. :( We were invited to a cookout at a friend’s house this evening, but I cancelled. (I know that I could still go with the kids, but I think that I’d rather hang out at home and relax ~ we had a pretty busy week, and I feel like I need some “recovery” time!) He thinks that he has food poisoning ~ maybe from some fruit that he ate at work. I hope that he feels better soon (and if it’s actually a virus, that he doesn’t pass it along to anyone else!).
  • Lucas and Meredith did VBS at Loudonville Community Church this week and really enjoyed themselves. We’re tired from getting up early, though (6 a.m. for me!). They had tons of great activities planned for all of the kids, and it was wonderful to see so many teenagers involved. Lots of people went to a lot of effort to put it all together. I was a “teacher” in the infants’ room, although I basically just helped take care of the babies. :) It made me a little teary seeing Luke and Meri take their handmade Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes into the sanctuary to help other children in the world! I told someone that next year I’d like to help with making the signs and decorations. I have a cute video of Lucas singing one of the songs ~ let me know if you’d like the link.
  • I made Martha Stewart’s cherry streusel coffee cake for an event last night, and it was a big hit! Really delicious … it could have used more cherries, though. And they turned purple like blueberries, although maybe that’s because they were dark cherries! For tomorrow, I’m going to make a fresh fruit tart (so neat that it uses limeade concentrate ~ I bet that will add a lot of “zing”!).
  • This upcoming week … Lucas will continue his summer camp; we have a primary school playground playgroup on Tuesday morning; I have a dentist appointment on Thursday; Meredith’s preschool class has a playgroup on Friday morning; and I have a meeting Saturday morning, followed by a gymnastics birthday party for one of Meredith’s classmates (need to find a gift ~ according to her mom, she’s into Hannah Montana!).
  • I can’t believe that we’re approaching the end of July!

Hannah Montana? Are you kidding? Hm… I’d stick to My Little Pony or something, if it were me, LOL!

Seems like you have yet another busy week ahead of you. I agree with Carol, and skip out on the HM crap. Although the child may enjoy HM, I am sure she would love to get something that wasn’t HM. Heck, she might enjoy that even more in the long end. And plus you wouldnt want to get the same HM present that someone else is giving her.
